Interaction with guests
We won’t be available in person. We live in Madison, but are always available through text, phone, or email. In an urgent situation our neighbors may be able to help. Their contact info is at the house on the whiteboard going down to the basement.
Special Requests
We wish to make your stay exceptional! If there’s something you need or want that we don’t offer, please let us know. We will always attempt to meet any special request.
Privacy
Your physical, personal, and financial privacy is paramount. We do not share any personal information with mailing lists or any other party or business entity.
Cleanliness
We thoroughly clean the house after each guest. The kitchen and bathroom are meticulously sanitized. The bed linens and towels are replaced and the grounds are tidied.
Excessive cleaning charge
Any excessive cleaning required upon guest departure will result in a minimum cleaning fee of $100, plus an additional charge of $60/staff hour. Our expectation is that guests will leave the property in the same condition it was upon check in.
Important additional considerations
We have a septic system, which is different from city sewers–NO GREASE CAN BE POURED DOWN THE DRAIN AND NOTHING BUT, YOU KNOW, AND TOILET PAPER CAN BE FLUSHED! Use the trash for everything else.
Please respect the local speed limits arriving and departing (and tell all of your guests coming separately). There are children playing and folks enjoying the quiet country life in the neighborhood. It’s a privilege to own a place in the woods so please try to blend in.
If you use the fire pit or the grill, do so responsibly, and wipe down the grill after use.
Please be gentle with the kitchen Carrera marble countertop and local cherrywood dining table. The State Health Department advises that guests may choose to sanitize their dishes and utensils with a bleach solution under the sink if they wish to. There is no dishwasher.
This house is on the National Register of Historic Places, so please help us treat it kindly for posterity. It is best enjoyed by guests who understand there may be certain quirks to the house.
